Why do you think they are black gelcoat ??:D

Its quick innit  & Andy knows how to drive it really well, at the next track day come along & see how well he drives it on track, bring spare jeans :D
I imagine you went home thinking " can,t wait till mine(yours) is finished eh"?

cheers

yep, its quick, it inspired me to work until 9:30 tonight and get all the wishbone brackets welded on, all wishbones and rear uprights bolted on too. Its starting to look less like a climbing frame and more like a roadster:D
Big thanks to andy for lending me the jigs to do the brackets

I had the same ride, then went home thinking I can't wait to start building never mind finish it. At least the table is ready and the doner has been found.

i havent even found a doner! I dont have the space and my neighbours are tits so having a scrap car on the drive is a no no. Im having to scour ebay for bits, but im going down the route of trying to get as many brand new bits as possible to try and fool mr IVA into giving me a new registration....

Chassis looking great Nathan, you certainly have been busy
Tho, hope you don,t mind me saying............. your headlight brackets look a little too long (tho it might be the photo angle), most folk use 12cm from the hole center to edge of the chassis ,

ahh, I know those jigs well :D I made em :)

well done on your build, won,t be long before its rolling:cool:

cheers

Glad you enjoyed it Nathan, been driving it for nearly 2 years and 10k miles and it still puts a smile to my face every time.

Chassis is looking good, headlight brackets are made overly long so they can be cut to suit and welded on the top of the top rail so the cable can be hidden through the tube.

Keep it Up.....AndyH :D

iv drilled a 4mm hole to pass the cable through the top rail into the headlamp brackets. i was just going to cut them midway and remove a section of the oval tube then reweld rather than tryng to cut near the chassis( knowing my luck id cut through the top rail!). If i do this will they cause clearance isues later on?

thanks

Just cut them very near the top rail if you are worried about cutting into it then dress it back flush with a flap disc

Shorten them and weld them back on, it will save mucking about trying to cut them in the middle, shorten them and weld them back together again neatly.

I thought the brackets looked too long too, but assumed I must have done it wrong..

Phew!
