Hi guys, just wondered if anyone knows if Ronnie survived the recent floods in Cornwall or did he have to float the Roadster out?

Floods seem to be a normal event up here since the Greet flood in 2005 and last years disaster was nearly repeated again the other week, thankfully this years floods did a lot less damage than before.
Thankfully our flood defenses and storm drains were upgraded in time to save some Carlisle businesses from a second flood a couple of years back, and the finished works did a good job the other week..

I just wondered as I hadn't seen any posts from him since before Wednesday when Cornwall sank. Quite relieved to hear he lives on higher ground.

I've just spoken with Ronnie, he's fine, just busy. As Nick said he lives at the top of a hill if Ronnies flooded there's a whole host of people in real trouble.
Kind regards
John

I live about 5 miles from Ronnie, we are miles away from the floods which are mainly around St Austell (45 miles away).
Neither of us have developed web feet yet!

I was in Megavisssysysys in July!!!
It was a warm sunny day and we sat eating fish and chips. I hope the model railway place survived as the boys loved that.

That's good to hear Trophy Blue. I live about a mile from one of the most flooded parts of the river severn, thankfully its about 200 feet upwards too (600 feet above sea level), like you and Ronnie if we get flooded there's an awful lot of Britain underwater:D .

My m8 lives about a 800 yards from a small tributary river to the main river in Carlisle, many insurance companies are reluctant to quote for insurance given the scale of the claims in 2005 if you are so close to one of the flooded rivers. So he was finding it difficult to get cover at one point. Even after pointing out that the river would have to rise 150+ feet to even start lapping at the end of the garden he still got refused by most, I guess if he had lived 1 miles away and 150 lower he would have got insurance

Hi chaps
All is well in the Bonzo house, as said, if I get flooded, we'll have a lake to rival Lock Ness to view from my window :D
I have been a little pre-occupied with a few odd jobs & to be honest, by the time early evening arrives I am ready to climb up the ole wodden hill for a rest :o
Do have a problem with my ASDL connection though .... My connection is next to useless when it is wet & windy .... BT say the line is fine !!?? ( well they would, wouldn't they ? )
Took neary 5 mins to view a 17 second Youtube clip the other day :(
Thanks for giving me a thought chaps, tis nice to know that you care :)

Hi Ronnie, its good to hear from you again. It was obviously coincidence that you didn't come on for a few days just after Cornwall sank.
I live about a mile from Ironbridge which has flooded year on year since time immemorial till the council sorted removable flood barriers a few years ago. Last time it flooded badly there was some muppet who lives adjacent to the river got very upset because his home office was destroyed in the floods and his insurance company laughed at his claim, he only put it in the basement which is six feet below average summer river level:eek: .

Nice one Ronnie;) . They're not the bestest machine ever made but for the price they're pretty good and I find mine very useful.
