XE's and type 9's are a common partner. so info should be arround.

I bet you wish VW had some sort of RWD history ;)

we have a MK1 Golf with a Polo GT EFI lump in it ;)

I looked into putting a 2ltr eco into a roadster and came up with this site.

:D what about using the gearbox from a vauxhall omega :D

im using an omega as a donor im using the x20xev engine (not too distant relative of the c20xe ) the gearbox is the same stud pattern my gearbox is capable of coping up to 250nm the ones off the 3.0 v6 will cope with 280nm then have your prop made to suit the rear diff you plan to use.

hope thats of some help oh and the gearbox fits into a fairly std chassis ive only tweeked the trans tunnel slightly

The Omega gearbox would be the most cost effective option, they are available for about £125 of the 'bay. Type 9's seem to go for £150+ then the adaptor is another £160.

Kind regards

You could have said no and just brought a finished car instead. Although probably not quite as satisfying to be driving a car you built your self and telling people 'it's not a sodding kit car it a self build!'
I'm on holiday next week so please keep your chassis and wishbone orders on hold till the 3rd of Dec ta. :D

im a little worried about iva as i dont know age of my xe and they did make some with cats hope mine wasnt one of them

The Engine code is on the ridge where it meets the gearbox

if it says 20xe its non cat c20xe is cat iirc but i can confirm this with some research if you would like me to dig deeper.
