Hello chaps,

If I buy a sky+ box can I just use it or do I need something else to make it work?

An additional subscription or a different dish or something,

Presume you mean the plus bit where you can record/stop etc. Yep it's a chargeable feature, no pay no use, think it's about £10 per month on its own. Also best if you have a dual lnb as can watch one change and record another or record 2 channels at once. This from sky+ terms and conditions: -

Sky+ subscription required to use Personal Video Recorder features of Sky+ (free while you subscribe to any Sky digital package, otherwise £10 a month).
