Hi all, not sure if this has been asked before, tried a search and no result. I want to convert to a large co2/argon bottle on my mig welder, I know I need a regulator, do I have to change the size of the hose on the mig, or just step it down at the regulator?
Cheers

The bore of the pipe will prob be bigger on the big bottle reg. 6mm normaly, I'm guessing the hobbly MIG pipe is the thin plastic type? I'd buy the clear braided type fuel line and leave the bottle chained to the corner of the garage. If you buy 6-8mtrs of fuel line you'll still be able to move the MIG around but not have to drag the bottle with it.

The vendor I bought my welder from uses halfs of twin oxy-fuel gas hose. He separated the halfs and offered me a choice of red or blue. It's really durable, but perhaps softer more flexible than the braided fuel hose.

Try the manufacturer of your mig first to see if they do the kit.A few companies here i have noticed do a kit to upgrade from the small bottles to the large bottles and everything you need is in the kit for about $120.
One company is Nu-weld.
