Hi all,

Has anyone got any pics of where and how they've mounted their front indicators?

Ta,

Hi Skov,
I remembered an old thread started by Handy Andy about that, and I found it.

http://www.haynes.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=4691&highlight=indicator

There are lot of useful informations, examples and pictures (especially the gallery of Davidimurary).

Hope this will help :)

Thanks Sylvain, that thread's given me a bit of inspiration. I think I know how I'm going to mount mine now :)

Can you please tell me if I am reading the drawing below correctly and that you can mount the indicators directly below the head lights

Like on a caterham?

Or on the nose below?

Yeah like the caterham, I am about to start on the arms and the boss to bolt them to. I have bought some oval tube to modify, and then I am looking to machine some bosses to weld on the end, with a hole drilled into the side to pass the cables along the arm. I am desperate to have as little wiring on view as possible, the good thing is that students from summer school finish this week, most staff booked hols off until September so I can play until my hearts content.

I was planning on doing it a la Caterham below the headlight, it should be fine spacing wise from the front projection diagram. I can't remember if the front indicators need to pass an angled inspection as well?

I've used the indicators from Kit Spares, http://www.kitspares.co.uk/shop/item.php?cat=13&product=4919&catsub=0 The length of the stalks is just right, but they obscure the bottom of the headlight if you look from below.

The only ones that will notice that they obscure the headlights will be the ones you runover and they don't count

Just remember that for IVA they must be a MAX of 400mm from the edge of the vehicle. I.e. the outside of the cyclewing. Headlights are the same.

I made mine quite simply with a length of copper pipe, some nuts soldered in the end and a bolt with a hole up the middle to secure it to the nose. The nut has a plain washer and a rubber tap washer to protect the fibreglass. Once the nuts were soldered in the end I profiled the end with a file so it sat sqyare and horizontal against the nose.
