Since 2009 I have run Talon as a business building a reputation for the parts I manufacture and even managed to pay some bills through some of the sales that I have made. How ever since before Christmas I have got myself in to a hole that I'm having trouble digging my way out of, Talon as a business is no longer viable as my only source of income. Next week I am returning to a job I walked away from 10 years ago to clock in as a sheet metal worker/fabricator.
Talon will be run on more of a hobby basis for the next 6 months or so untill I have paid off enough of my debts to reinvest in materials and new products (hopefully!)

Sorry to hear that Phil, but your doing the sensible thing. Glad you have found employment though to tide you over and it may perhaps open new avenues.
Hope your going to stay around here.

I'll still be poking my nose in here and I'll still be making Roadster parts to order but the delivery times could be three times as long. I have a lot of parts that I want to produce for the roadster but I don't have enough cash flow to pay the bills and invest in the materials to develop them.
It's not like I need a lot of money to do it either:
standard Roadster chassis with mx5 runing gear to take pics of £150
MX5 fabricated rear diff cover mounting plates to put in to production £200
material for 3 different types of body work and moulds £500-700
removable hard top with doors to suit one of the above £300-500
fibreglass seat moulds £200
wind screen prototype first off £300
rag top and side screens to suit wind screen £300
and the list goes on and on which includes 3 other car projects.
Maybe I should start a forum donation campaign sod saving a kid in Africa send me £25 a month and receive a 25% discount on all your future purchases and a cuddly eagle toy. terms and conditions apply all ways read the small print blah blah blah
Edit: for those that have noticed the person using my old ebay pics and the pics of the wishbones shown on a concrete floor , don't worry it's my floor and my wife's ebay accounts.

That's sad news, Phil. I hope your plan will work out and we'll still see you as a thriving premier supplier of all things Roadster.

Phil, its a relief to hear you are taking on a job and not walking away from Talon. I hope it goes well combining the two and that you can get those projects into the metal and producing a return.

I'm glad to hear you'll still be sticking your nose in Phil....:)
I guess some pressure will be off you now and you can return to it as a hobby again.
Good luck for the future...

I am glad to hear you are sticking around, I have a few bits that I will be ordering from you. Delivery times shouldn't be much of a problem as I think most will be planned well ahead.p
I think once your website is finished, you will get a lot more business. There have been times that I didn't realise that you did some items and just noticed you were mentioned in random threads that I had been reading.

Phil,
I've just looked at your new online shop. Are you still fulfilling orders from there as I need some rack extensions? ..... Also is there anything you can do about the £10 postage?

Erm where to start....
Firstly to those that have sent me emails and messages about parts, orders or enquiries I will work my way through them over the next few days and get back to you, if you don't get a reply from me after 2 days REMIND ME PLEASE.
Here is a little explaination in to what has been going on and why I have been quiet. I have been working off the company debts for the past 6 weeks by working at the company that I owe money too, I now have a 3 day a week contract with them to help with the house hold bills and shop cash flow. I have only been doing a few hours here and there in the shop to get parts done and out the door. Working for some one else and not seeing any thing at the end of it has not had a great impact on my mental health, as I have OCD,an unhealthy dose of supressed depression and latly a few panic attacks have cropped up.
Over the last two months of looking at the shop and it's short comings I have had serious thoughts about getting a skip in and just throwing in the whole lot and waving it good by. This to the horror of my long suffering wife who has watched me build it up from nothing and who has funded 80% of it all.
After a serious talking too by those that are nearest to me both at home and in the shop I have been given a kick up the arse to move things forward again, so...
Parts and orders owed...
I'm working my way through the list this week and all should be done and out the door by friday, smaller bits sent with Royal mail bigger packages through TNT. If you don't have it by next wednesday I've missed it and I WILL NEED CHASING FOR IT!
Web site...
Has been untouched for the past 3 months I'm not sure if it works as it should as nobody has ever brought any thing through it. I'll look in to the shipping prices, paypal options etc etc.
Parts comming soon...
3 piece Body work set nose, bonnet, scuttle is ready to go pics will be posted on here when I can get decent shots of it.
Roll bars and cages, I've had a little rethink on these but I'll go in to that in another post.
to be finished...
