Just bolted my 1.8 focus zetec engine to type 9 gearbox and I only have 5 bolt holes that line up. Is that correct?
Not sure if I need a completely different sump but I was expecting at least one to fit underneath. There's 2 at top, 2 exhaust side(above where starter will be) and 1 on inlet side.
Oh and I'm guessing the red line I have marked is going to be approximately how much needs removing for the starter motor.

Any comments/ advice welcome

Thanks alga. Just been looking at your finished car. It's a beauty.
I'm looking for a bit of advice on engine mounts now. Do you have any idea on the max heigh of my engine should be to ensure it fits under the bonnet?

If you let the bellhousing stick out by about 25 mm, (as per book; i.e. crankshaft 130 mm above base of chassis) you'll have plenty of road clearance, and the valve cover will fit under the bonnet nicely (Saturn nose and scuttle). My only problem is that I used the original intake manifold, and had just 80 mm clearance above the throttle body, when the mounting flange diameter is 70 mm. I found an air hose forom a 1997 Escort to connect MAF to the throttle body.

In the end I've cut this pipe and stretched it to fit with a heat gun and a lot of persuasion. It's not ideal airflow-wise.
