I woke up this morning to find out that my garage had been broken into. Bastards have taken everything apart from my chassis ! Bonnet, nose cone, rear tub, wishbones e.t.c all gone. Rang the police, they will be out in a few days, a lot of good they are, and to top it off, my contents insurance won't pay out because I failed to ask for garage cover ! Please everybody, learn from my mistake, check that all of your stuff is FULLY INSURED. This will put me back years, tools have gone and everything. Only just went back to work after a long lay up with a broken leg. It could not have come at a worse time. All of us work amazingly had to fund & participate in this fantastic scene, please make sure that your dream doesn't get stolen like man has just been !

Thank you both. I am absolutely raging, and it's made worse by the police not really being too bothered, and my insurance screw up.

Just been looking on the Internet, and Adrian flux do a kit car insurance which covers you through the build stage, so basically every individual item is covered during the build. This could be priceless, especially in the later stages. Too late for me, but it might be perfect for you all. Hope this helps. :(

Stealing a car is dreadful, stealing one that somone is obviously working hard putting in their money and hours of craftsmanship is plain disgusting.
Put up pictures and descriptions, it's not a massive community and it's not easy stuff to pass on.

Agree with TT, we all trawl the bay etc looking for bargains so if you have pics of the missing stuff post them up and if they surface there's a possibility someone will recognise them.

Thank you all for your help and concern yesterday. I was off line most of yesterday evening due to a few developments. Police called around last night they had found rear tub, and my arches. They were being sold in Chepstow as genuine westfield items. The police have had intelligence on who has done it, turned out an old lady saw him doing it, and didn't realise that he was steeling stuff until I posted flyers through her door. Love her, I love old ladies, bought her a bunch of flowers to thank her, she knows who it is, but will only tell the police. The items were being sold around the town, but if you gentleman could keep an eye open for a dax rush bonnet, in black, with a carbon fibre big rush scoop on it, being sold in Chepstow please I would really appreciate it ! My bonnet is very easy to spot, because if you zoom in on it, pretty much bang in the middle of the scoop, there is a blister in the carbon fibre effect gel coat. Front nose cone is brand new in black, being sold in Chepstow also. Wishbones are also still missing, these are mx5 spec wishbones, with adjusters on all lower wishbones, exactly the same as what's in the gillham online site.
I would like to thank some really good friends off this site who have pm me offering bits to keep my enthusiasm going. Got to be honest, without the brotherhood & concern from everybody on this forum, I would have scrapped the project. Any information will be greatly appreciated, I can't offer any award sorry, I am broke, but I will owe you forever !
Please gents check that you are fully insured, it's been the most horrible 24 hours or so ever, insurance would have just sweetened the kick in the nuts slightly ! One thing that I haven't mentioned in the above is my sealey mighty mig 190 about 18 months old in red. I haven't mentioned it above, because I am not expecting it to come up on kit car forums. But sleep well I knowing that when I meet this little scroat, he will think twice about screwing with people again. My usual job is a long distance truck driver for a massive well known haulage company, I live in my truck all week to provide the best for my family & my hobby, and some little shit will have that point beaten into him.
Enjoy your builds, protect your bubble ! And I promise that this will not be the end of my build. Once again, thank you to every one, you have all been brilliant. :D

Thieving gits,
They have no idea what grief they cause just for the sake of a few quid.
I feel for you buddy, just a few weeks ago my daughters stable got broke into and they stole everything.... Now got to replace £2500 worth of tack. It's not just what they take but the value in personal attachments. A lot of what they took was presents saved up for over a period of time.
Same with the majority of our builds.
If there's any way I can help just give me a pm...

Hopefully the thieving little scrote will catch some incurable and very painful disease. Very glad to hear you have got some of your stuff back, hopefully the rest will come to light shortly. It's very encouraging to hear of the offers of parts etc from other members, that's one of the massive benefits of a community where everybody has a common interest and aim. Don't give up because then the stealing little shit will have really got one over you. Best of luck.
Dave.

I just read it. Man, I am so sorry for what happened. I have a big ball in the stomach thinking of it, and my girlfriend got tears in her eyes when I told her, she know what it means, seeing all the energy, time, money, will and love I put in this build, like all of us...
Looks like some stuffs already turned up, that's a new's. If I can be of any help do not hesitate, even though I know that from here there not a lot of things I can do, but really, I'll do my best.
I really feel for you mate.
Good luck.

Sad state of affairs, what makes it worse is that the parts have no meaning to the thief other than money.
It wouldn't surprise me if all the metalwork had already been weighed in for scrap.
Gutted for you, I would never have considered that insurance wouldn't cover everything in my garage, but as my policy is up for renewal this month I'll be making damn sure that it is now.

I'm really sorry to hear about this mate. If the old lady opposite can be persauded to tell you who it was be sure to put their details on the forum.

Errr....I don't think that would be a wise thing to do as Haynes would shut us down completely, no details of any criminals should ever be put on here
