I have just returned from seeing Ronnie's rolling chassis. It was great motivation. I even managed to fit my alternator today. Happy Days

andy wait until its painted. when i painted mine that was the turning point for me. the chassis turned from a big bit of metal that i had bashed together with the welder to a finished product that looked spot on.
once you have painted the chassis you will then realise how much more painting you have to do lik the wishbones uprights diff mounts etc etc. they all take time to rub down and prep properly. i have all mine 2 coats of primer then a couple of coats of satin black then 3 coats of lacker. the chassis i did with 2 coats of 121 epoxy mastic as it doesnt require any primer or lacker and can be sprayed on with a proper spray gun.

I'm slowly approaching rolling stage. My chassis looks a little different from standard as I'm using a BMW rear axle assembly to go with the BMW v8 enine and box.
I'm painting the chassis in stages, as I finish welding on all the brackets, fixing etc I wire brush and paint it. All the removable parts (wishbones etc) have been removed and grit blasted and painted with aircraft paint, courtesy of the paint shop in my works.
