left my maverick outside at 9 last night. go to it this morning at 11 to go to work and i find a big dent in the driverside passenger door.
come home from work and the missus says you must report it to the police! i say they wont be interested
anyway to keep her happy phoned the police and basically i have to go to the local station within 24hrs to make a report have to take driving licence (both parts) v5 mot etc etc
also the only local station is in the town centre and you have to pay to park.
so basically i need a new door cant get the paint from work as its not listed and i have to pay to report it
so as above im not happy
you can bet theyd be interested if they saw me drop something out of my car window though

That's a total bummer Ray, it just about sums up our law enforcement agency :(
Not interested unless there is a fixed penalty in it for them.;)

You are the victim & you end up having to prove that your vehicle is legal then paying to file a report

Years ago when something like this happened you would have a note left on the windscreen with a tel no so the person who dented the door could apologise and sort out insurance. Unfortunatly today no one wants to take responsibility any more, personaly I would not sleep knowing I did something like that.

slightly off the subject but there are still those that are honest out there.......

yesterday i was pushing my mum in her wheelchair down to the local Asda, as we approached the store we had to walk past some cars in the car park, the car closest to the pavement with the drivers door right beside the pavement had its ignition keys in the door lock, & no owner in sight,
i couldn,t leave it like that so i made sure the car was locked up (it wasn,t at first) & took the keys & handed them into the customer service desk inside the store, explained the situation with type of car/reg number etc, an announcement was then made over the tannoy,
my mother & i then just carried on with our shopping, thinking that my good deed for the day was done,
long story short... the owner of the car collected the keys from the desk & then spent 10mins looking for me & mum in the store to thank us, they were really pleased we had been so honest etc etc, in fact they couldn,t thank us enough.

i would like to think that is what most folk would do but sadly in these modern times not always the case.

if it had been a sierra with the nice alloy wheels maybe i wouldn,t have handed the keys in:D :D (only kidding)

cheers
