View Full Version : Advice - Parcelforce

Morning, need a little advice.

I had a parcel delivered by Parcelforce, and when I got home I found a note telling me it had been put over the garden gate.
Lo and behold it wasn't there.

When I looked on the website, the driver had forged my signature onto his little machine.

I called parcelforce, who conducted a driver interview, where he admitted lobbing it over the gate, because as I had asked for it in the past he deemed that to mean always do it.

They advised me the sender need to submit a claim form, and when he contacted their claims department they said there was no claim to be made, as the parcel was signed for. And there was no record on their system of my initial complaint.

What are my options?? I am thinking of asking parcelforce for the drivers name, and a copy of the drivers interview so I can approach the police, with a view to fraud. I don't expect they (the plod) will take it seriously, but it might make parcelforce a bit easier for the sender to get a refund out of

Any advice greatly appreciated.

PS - value was £110 plus postage

Sean

Hi Sean,
i,m an ex City Link parcels transport manager so have a little knowledge of the parcel industry, (15 yrs).
basically parcelforce are doing what all parcel companies do & thats to fob you off hoping that you won,t take it further,
you DO have a right to claim tho this must be done in partnership of the "sender", if the situation has been discussed with the said driver who has admitted to signing for the delivery then you have a very strong case.
if i can be of any help with suggestions for your "next step" then please contact me as i,ll be happy to help if i can.

sadly amongst parcelforce its a common practice, they employ alot of agency drivers who are targeted to deliver a set amount of consignments per day to get a bonus etc,
usually expected to deliver approx 70 consignments per day.

Cheers Andy

The sender is being very co-operative, it's Parcelfarce who are dragging their heels as you say.

What I will try and do is contact the claims department, get some sort of a reference number, then pass it over to the sender. Parcelforce say it is the sender who has to make the claim.

I'll let you know how I get on

good luck in your quest,

a little tip........ try and find out how many other deliveries were made that day by the same driver & see if the actual delivery was made, ie if poss get a copy of the drivers load sheet by asking to see it for the claim process then discreetly contact others delivery points close to you & ask them if they did actually receive the goods;) a bit of columbo detective work which is good ammo to use against the claims dept of parcel force if you so need it.

like i said its a common practice but doesn,t make it acceptable.

cheers

Not fair to say all carrier firms are bad but a lot have some proper gompers working for them, makes me wonder how they passed their driving test let alone land a driving job!!!!!!!

you wouldn,t believe some of the numpties that would turn up for an interview, showing driving licence,s that were cellotaped together from 2 different licence,s just so they could show a "clean" licence   :D

but no doubt they get taken on at other parcel firms:rolleyes:
