Pedal box help.

While in the garage rummaging through the boxes of stuff that came with my chassis I found some odd pieces of steel. After getting my nose stuck into the book, I realised I had a complete pedal box kit, probably from 3ge. This will hopefully save me a few quid, but when I found the donor car's master cylinder it is far to big for the hole in the pedal box back plate. The question is, do I fettle the hole and make it bigger to take the master cylinder, or just buy a new master cylinder?
Is there any difference in the different size cylinders?

I had the same problem. If found both the the big hole and bolt holes were wrong. I think there are different size cylinders depending on exactly which sierra you had. I popped mine on my mill and bored the hole out. You could equally get a file and open it out.

I thought it would be as simple as that, but wasn't sure. The hole is quite a bit out, so will probably have to mark out the hole and drill little holes all round on my pillar drill and file it down, wish I had the use of a milling machine, oh yeah, and the skill to use one :)
I reckon I must be the most unskilled person on here, can't weld, can't use a mill or laithe, it's going to be interesting when I eventually get round to starting.

I found this out too, I tacked a piece of angle iron across the hole, and made it larger with a hole saw.
