Hi all
Has anyone used mastic between the aluminium sheets and the chassis, as this suppose to retard the aluminium corrosion.
If so who is good source for mastic and how many tubes?

Hi Axle, most people seem to use Sikaflex but it's quite dear. There is an alternative called Polyflex LM, it's a polyurethane adhesive / sealant, I used it on mine it's brilliant and half the price of Sikaflex. I bought mine on ebay - 2 tubes were about a tenner, half a dozen tubes will be more than enough for the whole car.

I used Tiger seal. Any automotive polyurethane adhesive will do. Sikaflex 221 is popular, but expensive. I have used 2 tubes of tiger seal on my entire build thus far.
Remember if your bonding panels onto the car, its only going to be as strong as the prepared surface. So bonding your floor onto Hammerite paint is only as strong as the bond between the paint and chassis.

I used 2 on mine but still have the side panels, rear panel, trnny sides and top and dash to do, I also used a fair bit on my fabricated scuttle. Maybe 6 is over the top though:D you can get it here: http://www.gbtrade.co.uk/index.cfm?product=44
