My eldest son was looking at my build progress last night .... I think he is quietly impressed but would never admit it
We were sitting indoors having a cup of tea & he said to my wife
" I wonder how long it will be before dad has it in pieces again & the chassis stood up against the wall "
I told him that it was on it's wheels for good now & parts will only be removed to do certain jobs.
He came back with .... " I know they call them kit cars but I didn't realise that you had to pack them up & put them away, eveytime you have finished playing with them " :D :D
He'll be laughing the oter side of his face when he sees how well the Roadster handles ;)

He's only jealous Ronnie to see how well the car looks.
Once you get it blasting down the country lanes you can call him Kermit cos he'll be as green as hell.....;)

Although I am not an insane driver, part of my desire to have good BHP is to put him in his place ;)
He has got his Impreza running at 350BHP .... It would be the highlight of my life if I can let him eat my dust from a standing start :D
I know it would be impossible to get the better of the scooby on a long straight But seeing him in my mirror will be victory enough for me :)
Could get interesting if they were put head to head on a nice twisty track though !!?? .... Assuming I had the first idea of how to handle a car on the track :o

The scoobies and evos are fast down a line but get them on the track and they dont touch the roadster for its nimbleness and cornering.
It certainly is very satisfying.......
Crack on Ronnie

You may not beat him at a standing start, all depends who has better launch technique. If you dump your clutch at high reves you will find yourself doing an impression of a lighthouse, if he dumps his clutch at high reves he will probably stall.....
Do it as a rolling 20MPH start instead ;)

He,ll be eating humble pie when your Roadster is on the road Ronnie ;)
He may well have 350bhp, but his car must weigh in the region of 1.2 ton, & as Spud says, on the track around the corners he won,t be able to match the Roadster handling......enjoy the moment :D
cheers

I have the rear wheels off at the moment so as I can sort the handbrake cable & brake lines
My eldest popped in this morning, came in & said to his mum.
" See, I told you that he would put it away again, he's taken the wheels off already " :D
I think you guy's are right .... I am now on a mission to make him eat his words & nail the sucker :D

Make him do it himself Ronnie, he won't learn anything from you doing it:D .
D.
disclaimer: this advice is based on the age old principle of do as I say and not as I do;) .

Fit them and when you are done leave two blocks under the front and rear wishbones so two wheels are off the deck and watch his face drop when there is no drive and act the innocent. ;)

Now that's an idea I like Paul :D :D
I could tell him that it has made things too stiff, preventing wheel contact with the road ;)
He'd probably fall for that one :D
