I know we all occassionally moan about ebay, and about how sometimes prices are ridiculously expensive, but I must say my mind has been changed over the past couple of weeks. It started when my lcd screen on my digital SLR camera got cracked. £150+ repair from everywhere I rang, but £27.00 to some nice bloke in Hong Kong got me a new screen and I fitted it in an afternoon. Result :cool:
Yesterday my sky+ box decided to give up the ghost. Sky wanted £65 off me for a repair:eek: , and I'd have lost all my recorded programmes. A quick search online pointed me to a power supply problem being the probable cause (very common fault apparently). Ebay search found a guy selling a bunch of capacitors for £7.49 inc. postage. Came today, 45 minutes of fat fingered soldering, Sky box now as good as new.
To top it all off, I ordered an auto-darkening welding helmet for £25 last week, that came today, and a quick 2 minute go of it shows how much easier welding is with one of these beasties (even a cheapie one):cool: .
