Civil unrest and riots might get their attention for two minutes but we will go back to getting shafted as usual.

Its good to be British

And if we were not propping up the yanks and fighting in their war things could be different.

The government take a fortune in tax from fuel but so do the fuel companies - see this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-10799128
They get away with it because they claim they need to invest that money in future exploration. What they forget to mention is the cost of exploration is already factored in - it's a business expense that reduces their overall bottom line. The figures in that article were from last summer, prices have rocketed since then so you can expect the like for like figures this year to be much, much bigger. We all have to pay so the stakeholders in these huge companies get richer by the second:mad:

FF sake the daily mail states could be £8 a gallon by the summer......

if this country bows down to this we really didn't deserve to be called "Great Britain" and governed by a bunch of complete tossers:mad:

Britain has not been "Great" in my 55 years so what will change.

What about the knock on effect as everything else goes up as well, food ,transport etc.

Ahh Yes the good old daily mail:) :)

But seriously the bandit fuel companies have put the pre tax price of a litre of fuel up 100% in the last ten years even though the price of a barrel of oil hasn't gone up by that amount in that time

The tax on a litre of fuel as a % of the pump price has actually gone down compared to ten years ago.
The government will find another way to get the money off us if we 'force' the tax issue.

I'm more concerned about the implementing of road pricing in the UK from 2014. That'll make £8 a gallon seem cheep:eek:

Get a victory forcing the fuel issue (unlikely) and the flood gates are open for more protests on other issues and thats what is needed.

People stop smoking, lost revenue, lets put something else up to compesate !
