Hi All

Location: Lincolnshire

A plea for help! I bought a lathe on ebay expecting to be able to use the works van to collect it but they have sold it on unexpectedly. I have now been weeks trying to sort this and have found myself in a position where I can't really afford a courier to collect it just yet but the seller is really peed off as it is in the way. Would any kind soul with a van and some storage be willing and able to get it from Spalding and just hang on to it till the end of the month? I would of course be more than happy to pay for diesel and the storage.

If you can help please let me know before they bung it back on ebay and I lose my cash!

Ta in advance

Matt

No it's too big / heavy for the cheaper pallets, unless you have a company in mind?

Sure Matt said it's a bench top lathe(Myford summat or other) but it comes with it's own bench for storage and doubles up as a coolant tank.

I believe it'll come off the bench thing - in the worst case I could get him to ditch the bench. Do you think you could carry the lathe without that?

Off the base it will be a struggle with 1 person (but manageable) and a doddle with 2.

I don't know what car you've got, but you should be able to get the lathe without the base into the back of a family hatchback.

I wouldn't ditch the base - a solid mount makes all the difference to its operation.

Thanks Micheal, if you could get just the lathe would be fantastic, I can make a new bench when I get it back down here.

He is a one man shop I think, he seems to have been using it for woodworking!!!??? Although I think he said the it was at his home... I can give you contact information etc if you don't mind getting it! :)

You'd get that in the back of a mondeo, I was expecting you to say you'd brought a colchester 2000. That could be thrown on a pallet and shipped for £50.
