Can anyone confirm the location of the water temperature sender (i believe its the one in the thermostat housing) and the oil pressure switch (guessing in the side of the block. I need to replace both to work a couple of gauges and take it the oe ones won't work correctly...

How do I know the value of the oe senders? Will it be marked somewhere or in the haynes manual somewhere? According to the info on the website the water temp sender is rated at 287-23 Ohms. Am I right in thinking that the oe oil pressure sender is just a low pressure switch rather than a full range sensor?

Sorry they are rated in ohms, the value used to be stamped on them but that was a few years ago, the value can be checked at a given temperature but that information would have to come from a decent manual. As for the oil light switch it is probably just that.

Ok, cheers bob. I will do a bit of digging around. Not the end of the world if I have to buy new ones, water one is about a tenner and the oil one is about twenty. Enough, but not too silly

Those prices are from the company who made the gauges. From the info I have read I believed the oe sender wouldn't give the correct signal to my gauge. Gauges are from greengauges.
