Quick question for you folks... I'm sure someone can answer this question...
I got a really annoying error on my display telling me that my rear tyre is uninflated... which it isn't. The car is a 57 plate Laguna Tourer.
Question... if I purchase a generic OBD tool off flea bay for 30 quid, do you know if it allows you to disbale the tyre pressure sensor diagnosic?
The feature has never worked well and I've checked that the wheel is in the correct location etc..
Any advice appreciated :o

Almost certainly not I'm afraid, the generic diagnostic readers you can get off ebay are not capabl of accessing the manufacturer specific codes and rarely give the facility to alter anything more serious than switching off a malfunction light/clearing fault codes.

Agreed, they only read engine faults and not always reliable.

noooo! dont do that :) just disconnect the negative terminal off the batt then leave :) you may damage the ecu if you just disconnect it

This is quite common on front wheel drive cars, in fact I'd go so far as to say almost all FWD motors will need an engine mount removing to do the cambelt.

Hi rapid, If you get no joy with that why not bring it up to Telford, my business neighbour is a French car specialist trading as French Diagnostic Services and I know he has the genuine Renault diagnostic kit as well as Peugeot and Citroen.

Thanks Davey - really appreciate the offer...but think I've cracked it.
Ok... 1st I pumped the tyres up to 36psi all around.. still that damn "you've got a puncture message" came up. Disconnected the neg battery terminal left it 5 mins ... hooked it back up and the message still came up... but remembered you have to take the car above 18kmh for the sensor to register the change... did this and hey presto message gone... what I don't know is if the message would have gone after I inflated to 36psi as I didn't take the car for a spin after.
Anyway all good (for now) thanks folks for the help.
Cheers

tip for tyre pressure sensors here boys is to watch your pressurs in cold winter wether
if your near your bottom limit the temp reduces the pressure and locks them on :o
i found its quicker to check them more often as it starts to get cold than to get the light to reset
