Hi.

Getting close to finishing my roadster now. Has anyone else finished theirs with a V6? I just wondered what front suspension springs to use as the standard 8" 350lb ones seem a bit soggy to me, not that i have driven it yet. Possibly a blast round the car park this weekend:D
Thanks to anyone who can help.

I've wondered about this for a while.
I was considering starting with 400lb springs.
As far as i can make out the engine/box combination should only be 20-30kg heavier depending on your configuration.

This is based on something i read a while back about the weight of the v6 against the pinto.

I was looking at this and the only way other than a guess is to corner weigh the car and calculate using one of the spring calculators. The springs are too expensive and a ballache to keep changing, best to get it right.

I am using 350 pound springs and GAZ shocks on the front of my V6 and so far they have worked out well.

Thanks for that, everyone. I guess it's time to get some scales and corner weigh it.

Robo, that calculator is totally out of wack for the Roadster. First, it does not have the 40-50° spring angles, second, whatever else I do it suggests 125 springs with different preloads.

I need to clarify myself a bit more, Jason.
I should also mention that my shock position is a bit more vertical than the standard location shown in the book.
I didn't want to mislead you with my previous post.

It was only an example of whats out there. Most cars dont run anywhere near the roadster front shock angles. Try this one, click on the user guide diagram. http://www.swayaway.com/calculators/swayawayCalc.php
