Hy there

do you guys have some drawings and dimensions of the windscreen?
I need to fabricate a template for my roadster.

Many thanks....

That is a 'how long is a piece of string' question. Who made your scuttle and what shape is it, how tall are you, what angle are you going to set it at and where do your wipers fit in relation to the screen.

Hy

you are right. I was thinking the windscreen is standard for all Haynes roadsters and the differences are minor. In this case i will use my way of fabricating the template...does it have to have some marks on it?..it s gonna be laminated as a regular windscreen car.
Kind regards

Are you planning on having it fitted before you get the car tested at IVA?
You will need to consider the following during it's construction

A:the screen needs to be kite marked to the relevant BS spec and the surround needs to meet the radious requirements. I've found a company that was approched by Caterham your looking at around £200.

B:the wind screen wipers and washer jets need to clear the screen properly and park out of the way. This can be done by cut'n'shut the linkages but you need to get this right.

C:you need to fit a demisting system either electric or a water matrix both will need fans. Most car systems are large look on ebay for very small units.

I've looked in to this with a view to supplying a complete bolt on kit and it's looking to cost around £500-700.

Why do they ask for a demisting device on a roofless car?...that is stupid..
The glass will be laminated...5 mm thickness...as about the kite mark...what exactly do i need ...as on a regular car windscreen ?

Best regards

And the price for the laminated glass only is 70 euro .
Or maybe this price was only for me ,because the director of that company was very interested in buying the car...even unfinished :)

If you are planning to get it tested and registered in the UK you will need either a British standard mark or European . I suggest you forget the screen until after testing as a lot of builders are doing or remove it before testing.

Second option sounds better for me...you know how it is...is better to do it at the right time, not after everything is painted nice and shiney. I was thinking for a windscreen frame as some Donkervoorth have.
