rear mount jig

is there an easy way of mounting the back brackets on the chassis, has anyone got a jig drawing or photo i could take a look at.

I used lenghts of studding and just measured the distances to the centers,use nuts to hold brackets on the studding.

I used the wishbones as a jig. just long enough to tack the brackets, then welded them up completely with the wishbones off so as not to melt the bushings.

One way round this is to use 1mtr lenghts of studing and some scrap 25 box section. Cut the box section to the correct spacing of the brackets and nut them in place, have the studing project forward into the seat area. G clamp the brackets in place and measure from an edge of br5-6 just in front of sb1 to the studding, then measure again from u5-6 and compare and adjust to suit. This will give you a better idea of where your brackets are pointing. Don't forget that you can correct the toe in/out by packing/shiming the bearing carrier on the upright.

As well as the above I suggest you take your measurements from the centre line of the chassis to ensure they are parallel. Tack brackets in place then check and check again. A good idea is to trythe wishbones to see how things line up with the top shock mount as well, you will be surprised how easy it is to be out of line.
