It's a sad day for all - just heard the news that legendary guitarist Gary Moore has died in his sleep while on holiday in Spain.
Gary had such an immense and varied carrier, coming over to London from Ireland at just the age of 16 and starring in his own band "Skid Row". He then joined up with Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy to replace Eric Bell where he made a huge impact on Thin Lizzy and moved them from the irish based rock music they had pioneered into the classic rock we love them for now. After his short stint with Phil he left for another of his own bands Colosseum II where he played his own style of heavy rock. Then moving onto his own renowned solo career which took him to some of the best rock and guitar onto the blues with some classic songs that will never be forgotten. He also had another short musical stint with Phil Lynott, with the classic "Out in the Fields" and "Military Man" before Phil's own sad death.
Loved Gary Moore from the age of 14 and he will always be a part of me - who's going to play Phil's songs now the way they where supposed to be.
Some of his best songs below which fit the mood of the day:
"Empty Rooms" (where we learn to live without Gary), played at his last concert in July 2010 in Rome:

"Don't Believe a Word", played at a tribute to Phil Lynott's 20th anniversary of his death, a song played in the original format from the Phil Lynott days then the more renowned version:

"Military Man", an all time classic written by Phil Lynott about a lonely soldier fighting in Northern Ireland:

RIP Gary Moore - 1952 to 2011, Rock Out again with Phil Lynott
I'll be off for a few drinks as soon as i get done.
