Upper wishbone camber adjusters

I'm sure there is a logical engineering reason for this but why is the larger threaded hole in the smaller diameter boss?

an interesting question, it may be to allow the use of quick adjust camber adjusters such as these

they require a smooth bore in the wishbone then the top ball joint is screwed into the adjuster

if this is not the case i cannot see a reason for the front upper bone boss to be so big since in its the most lightly loaded wishbone on the car

I thought it may have something to do with.....being a larger bore & quite a course thread pitch, for each turn of the adjuster it allows the adjusment to be fine tuned without reducing the amount of thread from the drag link from being inside the boss , keeping a secure connection between the connecting parts but still allowing adjustment....

I have often pondered that same query and as far as i believe there is no logical explanation apart from maybe allowing a bit more room at the top of the upright, in between RU2 plates, but they are away from them anyway. It should be fine to make these from the same 30mm rod as the front adjusters.

Here are a few pics of the camber adjusters I made on the lathe and installed in the upper front wishbones. I used Cortina uprights.

They look really nice, much better than the Rally Designs adjuster.
