out of hospital ,thank god soon be out in the garage. my seats are fastened in by way of 1" box section ,is it ok to weld a piece of 3mm steel across the chassis. the box section has to come out anyway (its welded to the tunnel pannel and the floor )and im fitting new pannels all round any help would be appreciated thanks.....

My seats are bolted on 5mm x 40mm flat bar welded from the side rail to the tranny tunel

The mounting bolts go through the bar & floor, they have 50mm washers on the underside

Iva inspector was happy enough with this

If the intent is to bolt the seats through it 3mm plate tends to bend a bit too easily so as mentioned i would be using 5mm.

sorry i forgot to mention my floor is already fitted, so i can only weld on top of the chasis sections. that would mean me having to make spacers, or if i used box section i suppose i could weld 3 sides. would this suffice?
