never really understood why anybody thought building at or near sea level was a good idea ....

Well, in that photo, my house is at the top of the hill on the far side of the river. So I don't need to worry.:D

We aren't at sea level here, we are 977 miles upstream from the Gulf of Mexico.

And 30 miles downstream from a Nuclear Generating station of the same age and design as the ones in Japan:eek:
