I think the important thing is that they have the correct taper to suit the sierra upright.

Where is the curve on the rod end?Are you using sierra uprights? If so go with the sierra track rod ends, maybe take the upright with you to the supplier to try them. There are quite a few aftermarket suppliers of track rod ends so maybe its just different suppliers as to whether its straight or curved.

I don't have a picture to show you but if you type sierra track rod ends on ebay you will see what I mean but if you look at the sierra track rod end the round part with the pin is off to the side and I seen the posts with the pics of others they are straight hope you get what I'm saying

I see what you mean.I dont think it will matter much if they are straight as the steering rack arms will just be on a slight increase in angle to connect to a straight rod end.

Sierra ones have an offset (read curved) the RS2000 ones are straight.
Saturn are now suppling standard sierra ones as I believe the tapers aren't right on the RS2000 ones. I have got the sierra ones and they fit the uprights fine.

The only issue I'm having is finding the drag link ends and the ball joints or equivalent part numbers that will work here in sa and parts that I can get in sa so I might have to import

all model Sierra rack/track ends, ball joints etc can be bought from Midas, Autoquip, Autozone, Spareslink and most other non franchised motorspares outlets... Then of course there are the Ford Dealerships to be found basically in every suburb.
Sierras are a dime a dozen at the scrap yards and they practicality give the bits away for next to nothing since nobody drive Sierras anymore and the wrecks are taking up space.
BTW, have you started on your frame yet? My car is built and stripped, chassis off to the sandblast / paint guys on coming Friday and next week I will start to put it together finally. And still I have not steering rack clamps or rack-end connectors...will worry about that when I get there:)

ford transit drag link ends I don't have part numbers for any no one do that to. do you any part numbers
This you will not found in SA, believe me I tried for weeks. I used Cortina Mk 5 uprights in front and the top ball joint that fit is the Transit drag link.
I bought two from Brad at Locost SA as he is importing them - Cost R450 a pair plus postage.
I had the part number - is QH.... will look on the box tomorrow for the part number, but at the end it will cost more to import than to buy from the Locost guy. The ball joint cost about 9 pounds each if im not mistaken (I found them in England when I was searching at the time) but the postage is the killer but still wayyy over the R450 + R70 postage I paid for a pair and the risk of not receiving them:o .

Ya I will contact locost sa and see if he will deal with me cause the last time I asked him about the steering bush kit he said he did not have now I'm not sure he is lying or not cause when I asked him about importing locost parts for haynes he turned me down flat and said he don't do anything for the haynes locost

Some advice...
Never tell a vender what you are driving or building, just ask for the part and you will have a willing seller and buyer.
More so when you in the niche markets of sevens and the Locost crowd. Haynes is competition for Locost and you have firsthand experience as a result thereof.
Phone the sucker, announced yourself under an alias, tell him you are building a book chassis if he is nosey, then ask him if he have the parts and the price, ask for address since you are in Joeys, go collect cash. After you have the items, you can jolt him to reality saying it would work fine on the Haynes if you like:D

You right but he should be more decent and want to do business with anyone not just those who bring him more money its the same thing with car tuners in this country they will modify your car very well and do anything you want if you bringing him more money but if you a guy that just need to service your car then they won't do a proper job and believe me on this I have first hand experience on this but I think that this is wrong you should treat everyone equal because when you started with your company its the small clients that brought you business not the big boys or big spenders so this guy from locost sa is very rude to not want to deal with guys who building there own
