HandyAndy

As some of you may have noticed I,ve been a bit quiet on the forum lately, lots of personal things to deal with ( family wise ).

Tho today has been the toughest day I,ve had for a long while

Some of you may know, I look after my elderly disabled mother as her carer, basically do everything for her apart from bathing her, so like shopping, cooking, housework, finances etc etc

anyways.....

She has just had it confirmed today that she has the "BIG C".

Apologies for the post, just felt I needed to vent off a bit, still trying to keep her upbeat etc, not easy tho :(

cheers

Andy. you don't have to apologise for putting your family first which you must always do.
I am sure almost everybody knows somebody who has contracted the dreaded Big C.
We all totally understand what your going through, my old Mum had the same but she passed away aged 86 but it's makes no difference the pain is still the same.

All the Best Mike.

It is tough when family are affected by something like this. I went through it in the eighties when both my parents got it in their early fifties. Just got to take it one day at a time. Take care mate.

Thanks Guys ,

ALL your kind words mean a great deal to me, I really do appreciate them, my sincerest thanks to you all .

I just needed a few hours to get my head around this, I lost my Father to the big C back in 1989, but his circumstances were / are easier to accept, He was a heavy smoker & worked in an industry not known for its H&S (Asbestos lagged pipework in the engine rooms of Merchant ships from the 1930,s to 1980,s).

Whereas my mum hasn,t smoked or drank( the odd sip maybe at a wedding etc) at all during her life, so kinda tough accepting todays news.

Terry , my thoughts are with you mate, truly with you mate.

Many thanks again guys, it means more than you may realise.

cheers

I hate that word mate...I went through the joy of my wife having my first child with the passing of my mum within days of each other ...it is a disgusting disease which unfortunately, more often than not picks the true diamonds of this earth who truly do not deserve it...My best wishes to your Family and of course your very good self !!
