Well guys i think i've almost finished, got the replacement speedo cable in the post today, and is now fitted and working...

Booked in for IVA on Friday morning - Can't say I'm looking forward to it, but can't wait to get it on the road! :D

Wish me look, hopefully all will go well, but we all know how hard these tests are.

Wow,

you only started your build a year ago, in May? Weren't you looking around for a place to rent within which to build it? Blimey you've certainly been busy.

It puts some of us to shame. I started welding my chassis together in May last year too and still haven't got it on to its wheels yet. My ETT (estimate time of test) is Aug 2013!

Look like you've done a nice job, I appreciate you posting your pictures of your build and keeping us all inspired.

Goog luck with the IVA.

Great memory! I was indeed looking for somewhere to rent around may time last year. Found something a few months later, and got my donor gear on 6th July 2010

you'll be okay David as long as you have all the basics right, take plenty of spare parts and trim. We'll get the brakes and emissions checked tomorrow prior to going down.

We'll be fine.....Andrew

Thanks for all the replies.

Had another disaster, went to my lockup to give it a bit of a clean and check things over, found the brake lights have stopped working!

The pressure switch has stopped working, if i can't get hold of one first thing, im going to have to mount a micro switch under the pedal somehow.

Not good news im affraid. Emmissions were miles out, it doesnt seem to be firing properly on cylinders 1 and 4, and plug 4 had some oil on it when we looked at them. Think the headgaskets gone.

Also, the brake master cylinder tank seal has a leak.

There was a few bits of edge trim etc that could have been done on the day, but not worth it because of the emissions.

All in all, not a bad fail, could have been worse. :)

Big big thanks to the boys at Saturn for all their help and time. Really appreciate it!
