Was having a great day yesterday fitted the wheels and dropped in the engine then I trial fitted the bonnet and found although I had allowed for the height of the engine block the carbs on my 1.8 CVH are higher and foul on the bonnet. Has anyone else had this problem ? Guess I need to reduce the height of the engine mounts to lower the whole thing down a little or I was thinking of usinng bike carbs does anyone have any pictures of them connected upto a 1.8CVH I assume they would connect up horizontally so be much lower ?

You'll find with the standard 1.8 CVH carb that the filter will stick up through the bonnet.

I have fitted bike carbs to mine, and with the new style Saturn bonnet everything fits under fine.

What Carbs did you use Dave, did you make the Manifild up yourself ?

I used gsxr 600 carbs. But any carbs from a 600 up should work ok once setup correctly. I made my own manifold up so I could angle them to fit wherever I wanted.

Thanks think I will go for the bike carbs to save cutting holes in the bonnet I have the same big bulge bonnet from Saturn so hopefully it will all fit underneath

make sure you angle your bike carbs to the same angle as fitted to the bike so the floats work ;)
if your lucky you find a line cast in the side to set float hights and thats your level line

Ok got some bike carbs now and I have also grafted most of the Sierra wiring loom in but I have a few sensors which I'm not realy sure what to do with, I have attached a photo of my inlet manifold to detail some of the sensors below
1. TempGuage sender I need this one
2. Air temp Sensor think I need this for the Eletric ignition module to work correctly ?
3. Manifold Temp Sensor do I need it
4 I have a single black wire coming off what I think is the choke see attached picture do I need this ?
5 I have another sensor with 4 wires coming out of the housing with the thermostat in it. I think its the Fan switch but I cant positivly identify any ideas ?
6. Vacuum Vale this goes into the EFI module do I need it ?
7. Vacuum pipe from EFI Module guess I need this to be fed off my new inlet manifold for advance ?

Any suggestions most welcome
