Hello Everybody,
I'm building a Haynes Roadster (Chris Gibbs book), in Sweden. I want to order the suspension brackets set and a pre-cut chassis plate set. But from England, the postage cost is very expensive. Does anyone know where I can find these items in Sweden, or which company can make the cuts and bends on map ? I'm sure some of you have already made fabricated these items in Sweden. By the way, I'm leaving close to Växjö, and a supplier or a company in the neighbourhood would be great, but of course, I can also mail order these parts.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Sylvain, if you cant find a provider from Sweden then maybe I can help with chassis plates. But I'm from Estonia.

I did'nt think £26 shipping for a basic chassis set to sweden was too bad considering a flat pack from London to Scotland was £62.

Just reading these posts from up round the Baltic area reminded me we haven't heard anything from Albert for a while- used to be a regular contributer.
ARE YOU STILL OUT THERE ALBERT:)
Could be still 3 metres deep in snow:D

Talon, don't feel offended my friend, I'm not talking about you : you don't supply the complete chassis plate, don't you ? Only a "basic" one. So my problem is not your shipping cost, it is the fact that you don't supply what I want.
And the problem is not the shipment cost itself, but the proportion : when a suspension bracket set cost £30 and the shipment is £21 (one more time, it is not YOU I'm talking about), shipment is 70% of the parts cost. It is just ridiculous (I used to be a purchasing manager, believe me I know what I'm talking about) If I can find the same price level and quality in the country where I live, and save £20 or £25, I'll be happier to spend this money in beers with my friends rather than give it to DHL or the royal mail :D
But I'm still looking for someone who can supply the complete chassis plates set AND the complete suspension brackets set.
Mopple, thank you for the offer. Can you tell me how much you could sell a CP set and shipment cost to Sweden ? Can you also make the suspension brackets set ?
Thanks mate.
Ans sorry, don't know Albert, and I've been living in Sweden for a short time only, so, can't help :)

I'm not offended at all don't worry about it. I'm planing on supplying a full set of laser cut chassis plates and pedal boxes but I'm still waiting for the CAD guy to translate the drawings in to laser cutting programes.

Talon, cool, very good news. Do you know when it could be ready ? I'm not in a big hurry, I can wait a little if it is worth to (but not months, of course). I might be very interested if you can supply a complete CP set with the suspension brackets set.
Keep me posted. Thanks.

So you don't really know when it is gonna be ready ? Ok, Tell me if you think it is possible : I order the suspension brackets set + the basic chassis plates set now, and when the complete CP set is ready, you send me the complement only (complete CP set minus the basic CP set I already bought). Of course, I'll need to know the price first.
Thanks.

Oh, nice to hear that you missed me :) My Haynes project has been on a back burner due to pressures at work, but now I've taken a well-deserved vacation, so things should start moving again. Here I am back on the forum, too!

Thank you for the price of the shipment. I'm still interested, but I might not need the suspension and shock absorber brackets any more. What I'll do is when I'm sure, I send you the CAD file with the parts I need only.
Thanks again.

Hi voucht, please send the DXF contours and part quantities to madis69@mail.ee.
BTW I have also modeled the whole chassis and suspension in SolidWorks, did also some design changes for my own build.
