While routing through a load of junk in the workshop today I stumbled across a an lt77 gearbox. What i had forgot was where the hell it came from because i did not recognize the bellhousing, it turns out it came from a peugeot engined 1.9 sherpa. Well that adds another engine that could end up in a roadster with an easy to get gearbox as the petrol and diesel 1.9 shared the same engine block. 300hp potential have a read.

Yeah, I had an XU9J4 ( the alloy Mi16 Engine ) that had gone in a MK1 golf.. I was thinking about using it in the roadster when I stripped the rotten Golf.
I too discovered that the XU Belhousing pattern is the same on Oilburner and Petrol and came to the fact that the Sherpa had the LT77 with the correct Bellhousing .
I was even looking at buying a box to do the job. But the engine was sick anyway and fitment would have been fun as it leans over a lot.
So I sold it.
