Set off this morning at 6am with the MX5 display chassis strapped to the back of the transit, ready to drive the 376 miles down to Devon to see Matt. Filled up with £76 of squirt and pulled into Clackets lane services for the first of 4 planned stops, then just before junction 3 on the M3 on my way to collect my brother the truck started to judder like it was running on 3. Thought it was a fuel blockage so pulled in to lane 1 put on the hazards, depressed the clutch while still rolling and gave it a few short bursts of revs then all was fine. Carried on for another 2 miles then I found out what was causing the juddering, it's not the injectors or the pump the problem is that there is now bits of friction, pressure and thrust release bearing all over the M3!

Hope you got recovered safely and cost free...
Clutch change should be straight forward enough..

Doing the job it's self is not a problem or that it's only £55 for the 3 part kit. It's a weather/wether issue, ie I can only do the job if the weathers ok and wether I can be bothered to do the job at all. I've been toying with a V6 or V8 conversion so that I can get around the London low emission zone, this could be the ideal time to do it......

24V Cosworth V6 engine is a common transit conversion.

At jct 3 you were less than 2 miles away from our workshops, if you would have called me we could have shoved a clutch in it and you could have carried on.

That's a shame Phil as we were looking forward to meeting you and all that jazz. Hope you can get the van sorted quick smart.
Vodou would have made the chassis but thought it a good plan to offer that side of things to Phil at Talon as he is geared up for that type of work with a very good reputation.
Lets Vodou concentrate on development work as there is nowt worse than being stagnant in design.

Taken the gear box off and the clutch looks brand new so thats saved me £55. The gearbox it's self how ever sounds very Donald ducked. I topped up all the fluids before I left the day before done the oil in the engine and even added some slick 50,the rear diff with ep80 ,so can any body guess where I did'nt add any oil? Thats right the gearbox  Unburied the spare gearbox this morning and wrestled it into the truck so just waiting for a new clutch cable and it'll be back up and running.
If any body is using an MT75 gearbox you MUST use fords own MT75 gearbox oil!
