Very nearly there! Need to plumb cooling system, bleed brakes, fit prop shaft, fit the exhaust silencer, do a full nut and bolt check, then map the engine! Feels great to be so close to the end - nearly four years, but only about £4000, and it's got some nice bits like jenveys and Westfield seats!
Cheers

Anyone thought about getting a proper haynes club together maybe a few social events like track days and european excursion's could help to quell some of the bad feelings on here just all get your cars built and lets go invade the car hating swiss

Sorry to hear this Ronnie. You are one of the guys who keeps me motivated. Be like me just spend a few hours a week on the car. It's the build that's important to me not necessarily the driving around in the end product.
Anyway, hope you change your mind. :)

Car is 98 % built, just needs to be stripped for powder coat, plating and final assembly. Remaining 2 % is to fit Hydralic Clutch and permanent fuel lines once I remove the engine & gearbox.
Best part of build, trying to redesign every auxillary component of the Cologne V6 engine to make it work of fit! More importantly, the new mates from Stoneleigh & Exeter Show each year.:)

Honestly Ronnie don't give up your build mate, leave the forum/your build alone for a while.
I think everyone becomes disillusioned with the whole thing from time to time, but you've put so much in to sell it away now. ive a picture of your red chassis in your garden that gee's me on, thinking ill be there soon!
Anyways ive just put the ss1/cp11 assembly's on, going to 'V' prep my tranny tubes and get up early and crack on before work!! or ill just probably snooze in
Cheers Will

Got a day on my build today as it happens.
Chassis is about 90% done, seat belt mountings to do along with back stays on roll bar. Made headlight mountings today and gearbox xmember plus altered the gearchange frame to remove the standard rubber bushings for a more positive shift.
Best part of build? making the inlet manifold.

Everything been on hold for many months now but been collecting bits and bobs from time to time. Been building the bargain garage I aquired which is almost done then I can get back on with things. I am at rolling chassis stage using dummy shocks. Engine fitted but may need adjusting due to clearance issues.... Need to consult my build guru... Fuel tank, roll bar kit, some body panels, headlights and brackets, wiring and radiator all ready to get fettled and fitted. Good luck to everyone else with their builds

Chassis almost ready (98% finished). Front and rear wishbones, wheels, steering wheel, seats, rollbar are fitted to the chassis.
Nosecone, bonnet, rear wings and scuttle from SSC ready to fit !
Bought a raceline sump for my zetec for more ground clearance, and now i'm waiting for the engine mounts, cat and exhaust from Kitspares.
So probably next weekend i can fit the engine, and do the last welding thats needed and fit the drive shaft.
One week ago i bought on Ebay a K3 ECU from Emerald.
If everything fits, the chassis shall be powdercoated. After that...:) :) :)
So far the status of my build.

After my fallout with SFRO in sweden I lost the will to continue with my build & felt like I had to take a break so I built this recumbent trike using my old mountainbike as a doner 13421343.
This gave me a good booster & i´m now back on track with my roadster build & will post som pics soon,if everything goes as planed i hope to be driving next summer:).

Rolling chassis on dummy struts. Engine and gearbox in , diff and shafts in ,tank ready to install, loom plugged in and engine spins on the starter. However still have an earthing problem eg indicators work but not headlamps--probe shows as 3 +ves at the main headlamp bulb:confused:
also cant get a spark at the plugs or leads--is there an easy way to test if the coil is working??
Some advice here would be appreciated
ps I have snipped out irrelevant parts of the loom and removed the fuses.
ppsI realise Im about to change the subject of this thread so please reply under electrics-- sorry

I saw somewhere probably ebay a guy selling paper or card templates for the roadster side panels. Not a bad idea when you hear how many people make a mistake on cutting these.
