A friend of mine has just bought a Marlin that is going to be used for off road trials.
He wanted to make a skid plate to protect the fuel tank from grounding out.
Today he bought up a load of 10mm plate & some 150mm x 150mm x 10mm box section
I asked him if he thought the materials were going to be man enough for the job :D
He explained that he wanted to kill 2 birds with 1 stone & the skid plate would also act as rear balast weight ( Going to fill the box section with concrete ! )
Well by the time that lot was welded together you can safely say that mission was complete .... Well looking at the way his legs were buckling as he carried it out to his car :D
Felt so wrong adding all of that weight to a Marlin, made me feel all naughty :o
