Whats the general consensus?

I was thinking either injecting something like waxoyl into the chassis once finished.

Or expanding foam?

Or is it worth bothering?

I was thinking to avoid any rattles etc from inside the chassis.

What do the likes of caterham/westfield etc do?

Im maybe overthinking, but its a sat night and im stuck in! lol

cheers,

I dont think expanding foam will do anything.
Try something like this;

I doubt if there is anything rattling about in the RHS you will be able to hear it anyway ...pretty loud these cars

Been mentioned before and opinion is that there is very little rust on the inside of the welded tubes as there is no ingress of moisture,a squirt of waxoil or wd40 would not go a miss in the open ends.

They all look like good ideas but the only way you can be sertain you cover everthing is by galvanising?

Think you will find Ziebart died along with plugs, points and condensers, used to use it on new cars in the 70's.

Filled the box section chassis of my Land Rover with old engine oil----seemed like good idea til it needed some welding:D

if was good enough to keep the rust buckets from the 70s alive to the 00s even things like fords and alfas that would keep there owners awake at night as thay could hear them rusting apart it must have been good.

most of them cars can only be swept off a workshop floor now:rolleyes:

Worried about Rusting on the Insides of your chassis tube!? You should live so long
Ziebart was horrid crap, Ugly and overpriced. It 'required' a Semi annual redo to keep it's Warranty active.. as if.

The bit about nitrogen is interesting

If the tubing is sealed it will not rust - oxidation process (rust) need moisture and most of all oxygen to happens...
