Yaaay, it's alive!

The ECU, apparently, shuts off after 2 seconds of running. I'm guessing one of the essential sensors is not working. I'll try to hook up to the diagnostic slot next.

Rig the fule pump to run constantly and see if it runs for longer. It may not be comming on after the initial prime.

I have rigged all the wires directly to the battery, including the pump. Not a very safe setup, come to think of it.

Great news Albert :) :)

Re: The ECU cutting out.

Do you think it may be be possible that the the fuel relay is not cutting the fuel pump back in once the reserve pressure in the fuel rail has been used up ?!
Just a thought lurking about in my mind.

Congratulations on the first start of your engine, good times :)

It will probably need a STAR type reader to get the codes.

But "sounds" like the fuel pressure is insufficient to me.. and I had not listend to the video the firsts time!

You could try adding a few squirts of easy start into the intake to try and keep it running.

TT, you were absolutely right! Initially I had just a drop of old fuel in a jerrycan. When I topped it up a few days later, the fuel pump buzzed but didn't build up pressure. I disconnected the pump outlet to help it prime. It started circulating. When I reconnected the hoses, after a few attempts the engine started up and ran until I stopped it!
