25mm x 25mm box section quantity help

please can somebody help me ? I am desperatly trying to find
Out how many meters of 25mm box section I need to build the chassis please? I
Cant seem to find the quantity in thr book.

Hi Jason....welcome to the forum....off the top of my head I think it was 7 x 5m lengths of 25mm x 25mm and 3 x 5m of 19 x 19mm both 2mm wall most peeps use the 2mm wall stuff and much easier to weld .......this stuff is so handy to have around I got an extra couple of bits as well.....good luck with the build

Firstly, welcome, always nice to have a new builder join.

When I started, I was surprised that the book doesn't give the total quantity required.

Have a search on the forum, there are a few threads on the metal quantity, but here's a start:

Oh, tell us a bit about your donor, engine & gearbox combination, we're always interested in what people are mashing together.

Massive thankyou both. I have come over to kit cars from the classic car scene, and the thought of building a car from scratch was very apealing. I am torn between a bmw and a sierra donor, so I thought that I will build the chassis, and then the plan is to go to the national kit car show in may for some inspiration ! I would like to say, what a fantastic forum this is ! Many thanks for the warm welcome !
