Hi all - New member here who has not yet committed but is seriously researching a build. I think Ive been bitten!! I'm looking at a Sierra 1.8 Azura 1992 K Reg with CVH engine and 5 speed box. I am told that reverse is at the top left of the gear shift. I 99% sure that this must be a Type 9 box but please can someone confirm for me that the Azura isn't different for some reason - I don't want to drop the ball this early!!

It would be either type 9 or mt75,not really a problem. You could always sell or exchange it if mt75 for a type 9 if you really wanted.

A warm welcome to the forum :) , good to have yet another NERD onboard :D ( north east Roadster Dude as we,ve become known as ).
If the reverse is top left then it,ll be the Type9 box, I believe the MT75 has the reverse in the bottom right position.
Hope that helps.
cheers

My donor was a 1993 Azura which had a type 9. I'm pretty sure they'll all be type 9's as it was the DOHC engine which had the MT75 gearbox. I also think all the azura's had the CFI engine like mine. The engine itself fit really well with loads of space, the only problem really was the intake system was qutie big but I got round that by doing a bike carb conversion as they hardly need any space, aren't that expensive to do and add a good whack of power to the engine :)

Azura's came in CVH and Pinto depending on what fell out of the parts bin.
