just a note to say be careful in the garage. i had welded up the rear lower wishbones and they twisted a bit with the heat of the welding (not much to even bother about only about 1-2mm) but i decided to put one in the vice and use a spare bit of 25x25 to try and take out the twist. one good pull later and the pole slipped and hit me in the face 5 hours at a&e and 3 stichtes later (will have a lovely scar running from the corner of my nose the corner of my mouth) but i now realise i was lucky a couple of inches higher and it could have been my eye and losing my sight in it.

ouch

my injuries todate:
various burns from leaning over something i just welded.
knocking my arm in to a pointy d11 leaving a nice scar
dropping the fly wheel on my finger nail, it's now fully black but not dropped off
Thats it for lasting injuries, can't count the amount of fleeces I got through with angle grinder sparks over winter!

Be safe!!!

Buy some decent overalls that won't fry when you are welding/grinding....also make for a really handy rag when you need to wipe your hands....:) :)

This is why i love doing this stuff at home.
The only person responsible is moi for my own stupidity.
I'm a big fella never find overalls that fit and are comfortable.
I have some big gauntlet gloves, its just every now and again you make the odd mistake! Especially if the missus or kid distract you half way through a job!

If I filled out risk assements in the same way I do at work, with my garage set up I won't be aloud to do anything. Getting on top of my build bench would be considered working at height, I'm deadly serious there is no greater than 2m any more its purely if your off the ground and could hurt yourself working at height regs apply!

I love my garage!!!!

atleast you can pull the "I was saving a small child from a pack of wild dogs" story when birds ask you about the scar. Failing that, you work for mi5 and can't divulge the info as to how you got the scar.

get well soon - hope you're ok
