There may be an obvious reason for this but can anyone explain why when i press ths hazard light switch all six indicators flash correctly (front, side and rear) but when I use the indicator switch either way the indicators on the appropriate side all flash fast as if there is a bulb out?
Has me foxes

Russ,
Are any of the indicators LED's? If so you will need to fit resistors in parallel with the bulbs, or get a fixed rate flasher relay.

Nope, all standard bulbs. Forgot to say its a 1.8 cvh sierra build with donor wiring loom

sounds to me like you dont have the right amount of load to make the flasher relay work correctly.
if you have no led lights fitted and all are working i bet it is that some of the bulbs are lower wattage (used any motobike indicators?)
iirc a sierra used 2x 21w bulbs f&r and 5w repeater
the idea was when the bulb blew you could tell by the flash speed getting quicker

Ah.... that could be it. Motorcycle front indicators!!!! I have a pair of 501 sidelight bulbs, will try swapping the bulbs over.
Well done that man :)

Right, that's knackered that plan. The 501's are only 5w, the bulbs in currently are 10w. Presume there is a way round this issue is there?

Should work the opposite with the higher load of the two 10 w repeaters, something aint right.

If your using a sierra donor, the front indicators should be around 25w. I had the same problem using 10w indicators from cbs.

How did you get round the problem?

Standard flasher bulbs are 21 watt and 5 watt in the repeaters.

So how does everyone fit motorbike front indicators? Am I missing something? I have 21w bulb in the rear and 5w in side repeater and 10w in the bike front indicators?

I got around it by changing to indicators that take 21w bulbs.

bit of a note you can get higher wattage bulbs than standerd for the size of the bulb in lots of motorbike stuff
i can remember having to get what looked like a std bulb end cap with a cylender shape glass and was 20w not 10w
ended up costing me x5 the cost of a normal ind bulb and was only to be found at the bike shop
also there was always cheap indicators at bike shows with the low watt bulbs in that ended up costing you more once you got the right bulbs to get them to flash right
