Hi everyone
What's everyone's thoughts on the metal deck fillers instead of a fuel cap they seem to be a quarter of the price but will they pass iva is it necessary to be lockable and have a restrict or fitted

The cap would need to be either lockable or tethered to the bodywork.

As for an unleaded restrictor, there's no specific mention of it in the current IVA book but I have heard of people (on the internet) failing the IVA because there was no restrictor fitted. My restrictor cost a fiver; I thought this was a small price to pay to make sure.

I know it is going on for 3 years now but I used a desk filler cap and passed IVA. There is no re-stricter fitted but the CVH engine is carb'd and does not have a CAT and would happily run leaded.

Reading through the IVA manual section 3A could not find any requirement for a re-stricter to be fitted, have I missed it?

No, Adrian, I couldn't see it either. For the sake of the fiver it cost me, I thought I'd avoid the trouble in the first place. Knowing my luck the IVA will have changed when I get to that point...

Is leaded fuel even available? If you can't buy it, don't see the need for a restrictor.
