Well yesterday i got to use a voucher that my better half bought for me, a drive on track in an Aston Martin Vantage. The most exhilerating drive I have ever had and a lifes ambition achieved Aston Martin, sexy motor

Mostly NIA David, few from Eshott in PA28 and micro/ultralight.

ATPL David ?

Going solo is the ultimate Bob,real bottle clencher and high as a kite for a week after.

I use to instruct on grob 103 gliders at raf catterick then morotgliders at raf topcliffe. Seems like a different lifetime ago but my first solo was the biggest adrenaline rush ever. I felt sick for about 2 days after I came down from my aviation high. Once my roadster is built maybe I may build a flitzer!

Few hours in the air then, done a few aero,s in the Bulldog but get motion sickness so keep away from it now.

If you fancy a ride or need a hand give me a shout,IMC and night qual.

I have always fancied a night trip. Have you got any links with the guy that runs the jet provost syndicate?

Heh! A friend gave me a ride on Grob 103 Twin Astir six weeks ago! I made a flick with my phone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-Qo2X6s4Q0
Too bad that building a glider does not seem like a very realistic DIY project.

A nutter on one of these gadgets crashed in my woods a few years ago:eek: . I heard what sounded like a lawn mower running badly, looked up to see a pair of legs dangling and watched it /him crash straight into a tree. Not badly injured so a lucky escape for him. Still flies over here on it but it sounds a bit healthier:)

For me it is just having the other half, anything else i wanted i would just buy myself anyway - you get exactly what you want that way.

Now where's the sick bucket.........;)

That brought back a few memories! Did you get a go at winch launching? See the attached video and look at the climb rate. 0-60 in 2.5 seconds as well. Good fun

I almost bought one of those. It was 50 50 as to buy a kit or a paramotor. I then went for a ride in spuds car. Mostly sideways lol and decided on the car. I figures I can get up early go for a spin and be back for breakfast whereas any other hobby takes you away from your family for most of the day.

The engine they use are good now. About 18hp but only weigh about 10kg.

Thanks.

I would really like a jp trip but don't want to buy a share.

If you ever go on a night flight I would quite happily go half on the avgas ;) even a daytime trip

This flying malarky is highly contagious, I have only been up in a piper pop pop but loved it. For my own sake and the well being of my pocket I will leave well alone:eek: . A few of my mates are into the microlight scene big time, one of them had a kit fox which was border line on being a light aircraft. A couple of them have ppl`s and one has his night flight stuff. He went to the states for a weeks flying and a test but the others dont stop taking the piss out of him for cheating:)

Defo listen to your own advice Rob,the odd bimble about now and again is great but once you have the licence it gets expensive to keep up.

I am lucky to have keen friends that share the cost and I am going to do a twin rating soon so more expense.

Now that is pretty cool apart missing a wheel --bit like a bond bug.

I dont suppose a welded space frame would work though-- slightly heavy:D

Just thought-an amphibian would be more user friendly:)
