Ayjay

Seem to remember in the distant depths of my memory that when talking to handyandy he mentioned that you can get a speedo made up to the length you want.....I sliced through mine with the grinder in a moment of madness! Unfortunately he didn't say where from, was just in a passing conversation but maybe someone else can enlighten you:D

Looking good, I'm assuming your going for Iva tomorrow. You need to take the harnesses out I the seats and get them to go around. As the seat becomes structural in a crash.
Also when we tow (same trailer, normally a disco tho) you need the engine at the front of the trailer for better weight distribution

There is some good news.

The coffee was ok in the VOSA vending machine:rolleyes:

The day started badly and went downhill from there.
Failed emissions, headlights refused to work .However they are now ok:rolleyes:

Overall though not too bad . I felt better when they told me 95% fail first IVA and that mine was among the better ones re general build ,braking , steering ,self centering etc.

Lots of minor issues re radii ---top front sus brackets:confused: top harness eyes , central mirror.
Potential chafes at headlamps wiring , couple under dash ,front ns brake hose
Slight leak from fuel sender and bottom of m/c.

At least there is a list of things to fix. They commented that some cars are failing to complete test due to overheating . The car is running and revving for a long time and it was very very hot at the test centre.

Watch this space re retest in near future . They said I had 6 months to retest but I hope to be there long before.

I want to say "congratulations", even though you haven't passed this first test. These are minor things you can easily fix, and I'm sure second time will be the one.

A little (personal) concern though. In the list of things that failed, what do you mean by:

Any problem with the flexible brake lines?

Thanks.

Bad luck mate.
Not a bad fail by the sound of it though.

No worries Sylvain. Not the hose itself it just needs resetting so it curves in a different way when lock is applied:)

Thanks all for previous best wishes and recent encouragement:)

Ayjay, was really sorry you failed mate, as we said this morning I will make the extensions for your front indicators for you in work, after wednesday it will be really quiet with the summer school finishing and most staff going on 5-6 weeks of holidays, the world will be my oyster.
Looking at the caterham set up they have the indicators directly under the headlights so if we can get them in that area, that should sort out that problem.
Speak to you over the weekend

Arfon
