:D what? you mean i can get 250bhp???? carbs :D , i wish, from a cvh engine i think i,ll be happy with about 125bhp.

i,ll keep my eyes open for some 600 bike carbs as they seem to be popular.

Andy,

I am in the same boat as you, I went so far as to buy an dual weber intake manifold for a 1600 CVH hoping to be able to put a plate between it and the engine to block off the different water ports but it turns out that the intake ports themselves are in a different position so are about 10mm out. WrigglyPig has made a manifold for bike carbs for his and I have asked him for the cad drawing for the plate he used. I am still contemplating whether to sell my webers and go with bike carbs or to try to make a manifold for the webers.

If you figure anything out then please let me know, I'll do the same.

what i meant was if your realistically looking at 100 horses from your car engine then look for a bike that produces 100/125 horses as the carbs will flow the correct amount of fuel and air
and as everyone knows horsepower is directlly linked to the amount of fuel you can burn!

Ray, sorry about my rather strange humour, just me being wishful thinking as i,ve only got the cvh engine for now, tho once thru iva that,ll be swapped for a new zetec 2ltr,
thankyou for your suggestions, i,m trying to read up on bike carb info as i know zilch of how to adapt them to a car engine, bikes yes, cars haven,t a clue how to make a setup work.
cheers

Andy,
Think of the car motor as a big but ugly bike motor.;)

HandyAndy 17th May 2009 09:00 PM
