Reading this thread I have been fortunate in getting an engine and box for nothing, diff, shafts, column, front uprights £75. Other donations at bargain prices and all in all I have probably spent less than £500 to have a near rolling chassis.

I've managed to pick myself up a few bargains, well i'd defiantly class them as bargains, others may not.

I managed to get a £235 drill for £40 as it just needed an £18 chuck.

I got my engine, gearbox, callipers, disks, rear drums, drive shaft, diff and other bits for the grand total of £125 delivered to my door, so no messy donor to contend with and I recently bought mushrooms, track rod ends, steering rack extensions and loads of other stuff for £143, saving me at least £50.

So far as you can see from my sig, i've spent £500 on tools and the rest of bits for the roadster, so i'm looking at spending about £3500-£4000 completing the car, including IVA + retest and going from having virtually zero tools, to 2 welders, a floor standing pillar drill and the rest of the tools required to make a car from scratch.

I have to confess I'm not including tool costs in my total, simply because I buy them for my business so its not exactly me paying for them is it:D .
