Hopefully the info below might be of some use. I'm not familiar with webbers but had similar problems on a bike of mine where one carb was overfuelling due to the the float level and needle sticking.

Has not been right sice it died on the way home a few weeks ago. Think maybe the rolling road is my best tool to use but wonder if anyone has any ideas first?? Very frustrating 44 mile round trip to lincoln today. All the obvious things have been eliminated. I am sure it is something simple but what else can people suggest??
2.1 pinto with twin webers. I dont think enough fuel is going through when you watch the fuel filter, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Car has not had any issues for previous 7000 miles so no clues there.

Hi chirs
sorry to here your having some truble with the car.
It sounds like there is blocked ideil jet. This is way when you give it beans it runs. The ideil jet as it is called isn't for keeping the car on tick-over. The jet is for second progesion it's the most important jet. Give me a call when you get a chance and I will try to talk you though it.

Thanks frankie

thanks frankie, thinking maybe fuel breather pipe also to be checked, all 4 jets in both carbs been removed and cleaned so they are out of the equation (They werent blocked) tried a few things thought i would ask if the xombined masses brainpower had any ideas.
Misfiring across the full rev range now.

What sort of choke set up do you have? It may be playing up if it's only after the engine is warm!

the saga continues

Had issues with my car hesitating after acceleration back to normal speed driving since i have had it (Bar 70 miles of the journey home from picking it up) Today changed all the plugs leads dizzy etc car is idling fine, let it warm upto temp, no problems, go for a drive, all seems good. after about ten minutes driving car dies. really difficult to restart, then wont rev past about 2k and sounds like tractor. if you try and pull away it just dies, or kangaroos at about ten miles an hour. (Had symptoms yesterday with different ignition items, changed to see if they are the problem)

Engine is 1.6 pinto bored to 2073 with dizzy and rotor arm fitted. car had done 7000 trouble free miles till the day i picked it up. Cleaned all the carb jets, cleaned and ran without fuel filter still no joy. was going to take to a rolling road to get looked at but looks like a trailer job to get there at the minute.

Starting to get a little bit annoyed now.

Have you checked the hoses to and from the manifold - in particulat the vacuum advance hose?
