Ah not really worth it then as kind of defeats the point of doing it on a budget. On a slightly different note, any idea if the chassis design is hardy enough to handle something like chevy v8 engine? Would be awesome to put one of those in :)

Hi, On the subject of doners: here in the U.S. we have few Merkur XR4Ti's still around and I have 2 Datsun 280Zs parked out back in various states of decay. The independent rear suspension is looking mighty inviting. The differentials are said to handle V-8 torque. The ratios might be a tad high, but that would just give me a nice overdrive for the pike. (For engine I'm thinking a hot "banger" 4 cylinder, 1.8 or 2.0L, 16 valve Honda or thereabouts from the boneyard). Anybody used a Z rear end?
