beleive me he is ultra anal i just call him an a@@e
he even has a tool wrap of his "special chisels" in that van of his....
they only ever comeout when he is in the poop etc.
we had some rounded nuts on my fiesta manifold the other day
and the ""special chisels came out"" a couple of dabs and they were loose
then into the van and out he came with new nuts and washers
its like a frigging Tardis

at Stoneleigh he had a snag into the bac k of his van and afew minutes later all sorted

its for drilling out spot welds :)
flatish with a small point so you can drill a spot weld off one sheet of steel and not go trough the one under it

Knowing what kind of work you have to do Les, I can fully understand where you are coming from .... Nothing worse than traveling miles to carry out a repair, just to find out that you don't have the one thing that you need :eek:

As a general rule of thumb, if you needed to use one of his tools, it was a case of .. " Best not even go there " :D

That said, you only had to ask & he would do the job for you.

It is a real pitty that he passed away just before I started my build, he would have been here every day & would have loved every aspect of the build.

One thing is for sure, I would of had a full alloy body for the build, he was an absolute whiz with the English wheel & all things to do with alloy shaping. ;)

you are not wrong there
i was trying to weld up the exhaust on my bike today
when in he walked and after much coo cooing noises and staring at the roof of the garage saying things like damn pigeons have got in again.
and then laughing at his own very old joke
he said it would be better to weld a whole new side in the silencer ,
chop out all that rot.
so i now have a spanking new silencer made from the side of a fridge
all i had to do was make the teas...i,m not daft he just thinks i am..
works every time
